VIP Summer Painting Party

This July, we brought our Pastries Impasto Painting Workshop Event to a private session for soon-to-be high schoolers. Before they went off to start the new school year we hosted a VIP Summer Painting Party for them! It was a genuine delight to serve this group of parents & students. They are truly our VIPs, as we’ve taught most of these students since 8 years ago in multiple settings. We taught them as their private art teachers, during summer schools and in our Artisanu After-school Art program, and finally as their in-school teacher! Watching them grow up as been their greatest blessing and in many ways this party was a meaningful reunion.

The theme was inspired by afternoon tea culture in Hong Kong, and provided them the opportunity to create a highly textural piece. We introduced a variety of traditional and contemporary impasto techniques, and covered artists who have been prominent for using impasto in oil or acrylic paintings. Our decor had touches of tea pots, floral designs and aesthetic cookies. Students were able to learn traditional painting techniques with acrylic painting on canvas, while also being more playful with the impasto tools. The final pieces included 3D, tactile elements.

Special thanks to the group parents who worked with us to organize this. Artisanu started out in 2015 precisely serving these clients, and grew due to their support. At the heart of our brand is our relationship with these students!
